About Zeinab
Zeinab Moghnieh helps people work through relationship difficulties, trauma and abuse, self-esteem problems, depression and coping with major life changes. She works in a person-centred way and draws on psychodynamic ideas to help clients understand patterns that affect their feelings and relationships. Zeinab is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and has three years' experience.
She sees adults aged 16 and over for one-to-one counselling. Sessions begin with a chance to set out the immediate concerns. Zeinab listens to how past experiences link to current difficulties and supports clients to notice recurring patterns in thinking and relating.
Her approach uses Client-Centred Therapy to place the client’s perspective at the centre of the work, and psychodynamic ideas to look at how early attachments and repeated reactions can shape current behaviour. Conversations are paced to suit each person and may cover relationship dynamics, attachment, boundaries and patterns of avoidance or control.
Zeinab has a Master of Arts in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton. She also has practical experience from volunteering roles with people facing suicidal thoughts and older adults dealing with loneliness, and from work supporting vulnerable adults in mental health recovery.
Sessions can address issues such as abandonment, body image, caregiver stress, codependency, communication and immigration-related stress. She encourages clear goals and regular review so progress can be tracked and the work adjusted if needed.
How her approaches work in online counselling
Client-Centred Therapy focuses on the client's perspective, listening closely to what matters most and supporting people to find their own solutions; it can help with self-esteem, decision making and relationship choices. Psychodynamic Therapy looks at recurring patterns and early attachment experiences to make sense of how past relationships affect present behaviour and emotions.
Choosing the right approach is a shared task. Zeinab will work with the client to agree goals and test which methods help most, adjusting the focus as the work progresses. The process is collaborative and paced to the individual's needs and preferences.
If you want to use online counselling, please confirm the available session formats before booking as these are not listed in the biography. Online work can make it easier to fit sessions around daily life, reduce travel, and allow for shorter check-ins when time is limited. It also gives options for people who are living abroad to access a UK-based counsellor.
Sessions take place through BetterHelp by video, phone or messaging. We will earn a commission if you sign up.
